About White River Trees

White River Trees Entrance

White River Trees is a wholesale nursery stock grower specializing in high quality Aspen. Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, our stock is high country hardy.

The first trees were planted in the fall of 1989 as a part time venture near our home. 24 acres were purchased in 1991 and White River Trees began to grow. In 1994, an adjoining 44 acres was purchased and the entire plantable property is in production. As a wholesale grower, we provide a quality product for nurseries and landscapers in the central Rocky Mountain region stretching from New Mexico to Canada. With almost 20 years of experience, we are developing the best possible product and continue to improve. White River Trees is owned and managed by Gary Moyer.

White River Trees purchased an additional 78 acres in the summer of 2008. Our increased production and broader product line better serves our customers.

I would like to express a special "THANKS" to our many friends and customers for your continued support. - Gary Moyer, Owner

What We Do

Operating on almost 150 acres, drip irrigation is provided from a spring along the White River. Trees are planted as small seedlings into a root control grow bag. The trees will remain in this bag until planted by the final consumer. The grow bag effectively contains the root system so when the tree is dug it experiences minimal stress. Fabric weed barrier is laid down each row of trees for weed control and mostiure retention. After four to ten years of growth, depending on the species, the trees are harvested in their grow bags with a tree spade. The root balls are stretch-wrapped to help retain moisture and then a wire basket is put on the outside of the root ball to enable easier handling for loading and delivering to the retailer.
